About de Young
The de Young is one of the two Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, set in Golden Gate Park on Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive. Its galleries run from ancient offering vessels to American painting and contemporary art, with big exhibitions through the year, and the Hamon Tower gives a view over the park (it closes at 4.30pm). There is a café with a terrace and a well-stocked shop. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30am–5.15pm; advance booking is encouraged.
