About Cable cars
The cable cars are a moving landmark. The Powell–Hyde and Powell–Mason lines climb from Powell & Market over Nob Hill to the Fisherman’s Wharf area, and the California line runs from California & Market to Van Ness Avenue. A single ride is $9.00 with no transfers; a Muni Visitor Passport covers unlimited rides. Between 8am and 8pm, buy your fare in advance to board at Powell & Market, Bay & Taylor or Hyde & Beach.
