About Baker Beach
Baker Beach is a mile-long stretch of sand in the south-west corner of the Presidio, near the 25th Avenue Gate, with views of the Pacific, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands. A sheltered picnic area has tables and barbecue pits (arrive early on sunny weekends), and dogs are welcome. Powerful rip currents, cold water and shore break make swimming dangerous.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Baker Beach before you go.
