About Sigmund Stern Grove

Rosalie Meyer Stern bought this wooded valley in 1931 and gave it to the city in memory of her husband, Sigmund; the San Francisco Symphony played the first concert here on 19 June 1932. Each summer the Stern Grove Festival fills the amphitheatre with concerts that cost nothing to attend, and 2027 will be its 90th season. Entrances are at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard, and at 23rd Avenue and Wawona Street.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Sigmund Stern Grove before you go.
